In 2018, longtime online friends Will, an industrial designer and Jason, an optician hadn't met in person untill a mutual friend's wedding. Both were VR users and both had the same problem: Wearing glasses in VR was terrible.
The scratched lenses, the frame pressure and headaches. There had to be a better solution than what was currently available. Jason had some ideas from his many years in the optical industry but hadn't fleshed them out yet.
He presented his ideas to Will, and they reached an agreement to work together on a solution. They aimed for a blend of traditional eyewear aesthetics with ergonomic features prioritizing user comfort.

Timeline
2019
Initial Design and Development
R&D started in the later part of 2019 on the Quest 1 and Rift S. Many different designs with quick detach features we're posed but none match the ease of removal and versatility of magnetic attachment.
Easy removal also meant ease of retrieval which seemed to be a issue with several of the units on the market. This is where the tab we include on most of our inserts comes in, giving the user a soft, tactile portion to grab and not come in contact with the lenses.
2020
Company Founding and Kickstarter
Like most companies, the beginning of 2020 brought development to a temporary standstill. The middle of 2020 saw a major ramp up and after many prototypes we're tested, an eventual final production model was agreed upon.
Jason and Will proceeded to focus on establishing production and commencing a Kickstarter endeavor for funding. The outcome of this campaign was not as anticipated, yet they pressed on by personally financing Reloptix and upholding the support of a large portion of their contributors.
2021
Early Success
Design and production was entirely in-house, utilizing Jason's basement as a lens lab and Will's home office as a design studio. Leveraging their established presence in the online VR community, word-of-mouth sales began to occur.
VR groups and influencers started to recognize Reloptix, building a name for quality and customer service within the VR community.
2022
Company Expands
With exceptional products and diligent customer service. Expansion was certain. Reloptix advances to a fulfillment center to manage rising demand.
Upon addressing the challenges and enhancing the fresh supply chain, sales commence to escalate, setting new company benchmarks.
2023 - 2024
Plans for expansion
With a global vision, Reloptix is working on offering improved shipping rates, with the UK in mind.
Additional areas are being considered to aid in fulfillment efforts in Europe.

The lenses arrived relatively quickly, and are perfectly clear with a super easy install. No issues at all with them getting to fit in, the magnets click them into place with no issue. The ease of installation and removal also makes it so easy to clean them when they get dirty. Literally couldn't do VR without them!

Prism of 5 in each eye - came out perfect

Exceeded my expectations
I have a tricky prescription that combines high correction, stigmatism, and high prism. Reloptix got it exactly right on the first attempt. I was very impressed, and the lenses make using the headset much more comfortable.
The lenses are special ordered because of my eyes and the shape of them. This, however did not create a problem as I was sent my lenses and upon placing them in they looked amazing and without any flaws. Very surprised with this asy eye doctor often messed up the lenses for my glasses. Pleased to say that I will be buying a new version for the updated models in the future. Thank you.

The lens fit Perfectly. I highly recommend them. The lens also protects the Quest 3 lens. If that gets damaged, game over. The Quest 3 feels more comfortable, my glasses is not pressed against my face anymore. The company also responded to my questions immediately. Good People!! GO FOR IT!!

What an exceptional product and Company! I'm deeply grateful I ordered my lens kit for the Oculus Quest 3! Was such an effortless process to order online. I simply took a photo of my latest eye prescription, attached as a file as requested and filled out all the necessary information along with the very reasonably priced payment. Reloptix acknowledged quickly my order with an approximate shipping date. Within a month, I received my Order in a Case that was beautifully packaged and presented along with a signed card from the owners personalized to me. It was very very easy to install these prescription lenses for my device thanks to the wonderful instructions! The perception is spot on and has made all the difference adding to the enjoyment of using my Oculus VR without my glasses! Truly a phonominal company! To be honest, I was a little worried at first. It took a while to receive these (which was stated prior to ordering, how long they would take to receive, so no surprise) and I had just gotten a new eye-glass prescription. Not having ordered from Reloptix before, I did not know what to expect. I feared bad glass or even worse, a prescription which was off... well, keep reading.
They came in the mail today. A little past estimated arrival date, but not too far off. I worried for nothing. Nailed my prescription spot-on!! It was pleasant to find the installation process to be easy and straightforward (I watched the video from their YouTube channel). Everything about the design of these screams DETAIL & QUALITY. Great engineering. Love the magnetic bases and snap-onto-mount design which perfectly lines up and stays in place.
It may possibly be some of the best money I have ever spent. I can now perfectly see while wearing the Quest 3 without the need for eye glasses. The glass is also very clear, which I am happy about. Now wearing the Quest 3 is very very comfortable and even better!
